What type of hair is my beard made of?
Your beard hair is known as Androgenic hairs or otherwise known as Terminal hairs. They are thicker, longer, and darker than the hair on your head (vellus hair).
How long will my beard grow?
While a hair is in an anagen phase, it will typically grow about 1cm a month on average.
Therefore if you grow a yeard (A beard grown out over a year) it will probably be around 4.75 inches.
Androgenic hair follows the same three growth pattern as the hair that grows on the scalp, but with a shorter anagen phase (active growth) and longer telogen phase (dormant phase).
1* The anagen phase lasts 4 - 6 months.
2* The catagen phase phase lasts 2 - 3 months.
3* The telogen phase for body hair lasts about 4 months.
What will make my beard grow?
The growth of androgenic hair is related to the level of androgens (Testosterone) in your body. Testosterone and its even more potent metabolite, dihydrotestosterone (DHT), are the two main male hormones that trigger and stimulate facial hair follicles to grow.
Using our Beard Fertilizer which is a caffeine-containing energizing ingredient that extends the anagen phase (growth phases). Preventing the active hair from entering the catagen phase and telogen phase, should result in longer more even growth over time.
What are Beard Grooming Products, and why should I use them?
Regardless of where it's growing, all hair comes out of the skin in the same way. Hair begins underneath the skin at the hair root. As hair starts to grow, it rises up from the root and pushes out through the follicle. Eventually seen as the hair shaft.
Why is this so important? Choosing the right products that reach the epidermis, dermis, follicle and the hair shaft will make all the difference in the quality of your skin and beard.
